Yacht Parthenope

The Challenge

Yacht Parthenope already had the ingredients for a strong website: beautiful coastal imagery, a desirable service, and a premium setting. But the site looked unprofessional and was making visitors work too hard to understand what was being offered, why they should trust it, and what they should do next.

The main issue was clarity. Key pages opened with broad or unclear phrases like “Routes” and “You Yacht, We Care,” which did not immediately explain the service. For visitors arriving from Google Ads, that created a risk: if they could not understand the offer within a few seconds, they were likely to leave before exploring the site.

Their Google Ads campaign had a similar problem. The setup was attracting low-intent traffic through vague keywords such as “boat and breakfast.” Clicks were also coming from all over the world, so the budget was not focused on the markets most likely to enquire.

I started by reviewing the site from the perspective of a first-time visitor. The goal was to make the website easier to scan, more visually convincing, and more focused on enquiries, while making sure the paid traffic being sent to it had a clearer path to conversion.

What Was Wrong

The hero sections were visually attractive, but they did not clearly show the product. Some images focused on scenery or general travel moments rather than the yacht itself. On a yacht charter website, visitors need to see the boat, the setting, and the experience straight away.

The copy also needed to be more direct. Instead of relying on playful phrases or translated wording, the site needed to say clearly that Yacht Parthenope offers yacht tours, boat trips, mini cruises, and excursions around the Amalfi and Sorrento Coast.

There were also conversion issues. Several pages had no strong call-to-action near the top, while the contact form appeared too early on the homepage, before visitors had been given enough reason to enquire. Key routes, yacht photos, and tour options needed to be easier to find and compare, so visitors could quickly reach the information most relevant to them.

The Google Ads targeting was not aligned with that journey. Broad, low-intent keywords were bringing in visitors who were unlikely to be looking for a premium yacht tour, and the location targeting was too wide. The campaign needed to stop chasing general clicks and focus on people who were more likely to become real enquiries.

On mobile, some content was too narrow, spacing was inconsistent, and the WhatsApp widget interrupted the browsing experience by popping open on it’s own accord. The logo also needed to be easier to read, so visitors could quickly recognize and remember the brand.

What I Changed

I reorganised the site around a clearer visitor journey.

The homepage was restructured to introduce the service first, then show the yacht, then present the available routes, followed by testimonials and a contact section. This gave visitors a more natural path: understand the offer, see the product, explore the options, build trust, then enquire.

I recommended replacing vague headline copy with clearer messaging focused on the actual service, such as yacht tours and boat excursions on the Amalfi Coast. Each page needed a stronger opening sentence, supported by a clear button such as “View Tours,” “Browse Routes,” or “Enquire Now.”

I also tightened the Google Ads campaign so it supported the new website strategy. Keyword targeting was moved away from vague searches and towards people actively looking for yacht tours, boat excursions, and coastal experiences. Location targeting was narrowed to the Italy and US markets, so the campaign could make better use of the available budget.

Proper conversion tracking was added so performance could be judged by real enquiries instead of clicks alone. Once the data showed that the US market was converting much better, the campaign focus shifted further towards the US to put more budget behind the audience most likely to enquire.

The visual strategy was also tightened. Instead of relying on generic travel imagery, the site needed more original photos of the yacht in real locations. This helped make the experience feel more credible and specific to Yacht Parthenope.

Long text sections were broken into smaller, more scannable blocks using a simple alternating layout: text on one side, image on the other. This made the content easier to read and gave each key benefit its own visual support.

I also recommended making routes, testimonials, and galleries more visible and easier to browse. Visitors could compare more options at once, while yacht photos worked better as an Instagram-style gallery with a lightbox.

The tour detail pages were made more conversion-focused. Instead of sending visitors back to the yacht page, these pages needed to keep people moving forward with clear tour-specific information, strong imagery, and a form framed around the exact tour they were viewing.

The Result

The revised structure gave Yacht Parthenope a clearer sales journey. Visitors could understand the offer faster, see the yacht more often, compare routes more easily, and find a relevant next step from every key page.

The website and Google Ads campaign started working together instead of pulling in different directions. With clearer landing pages, stronger calls-to-action, tighter targeting, and proper conversion tracking, the Google Ads campaign conversion rate increased from an average of around 1.5% to 10%.
